Even this generic wants to keep up with Yuuichi’s love life.

Where did it all go wrong? As I refer back to the exploits of Shirou and Hakuoro, I see that they had amassed a respectable harem by this point, but all that I am left with is my depressed cousin! In such desperate times, only desperate measures will suffice, and so I must do what I can to restore Ayu somehow. I am sure that randomly wandering around in the forest is the way to do it, even if my Flashback Modes seem depressingly pessimistic about the matter.

Sometimes fate can be cruel. For example, I recently spent over £60 on single DVDs of Scrapped Princess, and now a cheap boxset has appeared for around a third of that price. I even looked for a boxset before settling on the singles, and there didn’t seem to be any sign of one. Damn you, Bandai- damn you, I say!

Well, the moment that I hoped would never come is here, and I have been forced to resort to Nayuki in the absence of any other eligible female. Although Nayuki isn’t bad, I just don’t feel the same sense of accomplishment with her that I did with the other girls, and so I must go to extreme lengths such as indulging in Flashback Modes and trying to find ways to restore Ayu- perhaps that small doll she buried is invested with plot powers that can do it. I have also recalled that I once treated Nayuki badly in the past- I guess even then I knew she was not a vital component of my ideal harem. Continue Reading »

After all the oblique references to real life, interviews and the like, it turned out that my application to a research degree that I thought was a sure thing turned out to have been rejected. Oh well, this must be what they call a ‘character building’ experience. Now off to learn about teamwork and problem solving…

Oh no, what have I done? All I did was go with Ayu to see her school (based on my experiences with Mai, I thought this would be a good place to seduce her), and not only was there only a stump where the school should be, but she then said a tearful goodbye and disappeared! I must have done something wrong to trigger this event, but what? At least on the other occasions I had some warning before the girl left me, but this time it occurred unexpectedly. Has all my training been for nothing? Am I left with only Nayuki to sleep with? All my dreams of a wonderful harem are lying in pieces on the floor… Continue Reading »

Wireless internet certainly sounds useful, but when it comes down to taking advantage of it, certain difficulties arise. Even if, unlike me, you have a laptop with batteries that actually the work, there’s the matter of all those plugged in peripherals you’ve come to rely on. Take your laptop to another room, and suddenly you’re bereft of printer, scanner, external hard drive and a miscellaneous ‘more’- unless of course you wheel the whole setup around on some kind of trolley. Maybe I’ll just stay at my familiar computer desk for now.

Shiori feigns illness in order to break up with Yuuichi.

I have begun to realise that I may be getting through girls a little too quickly; Makoto is dead, Mai and Sayuri are in hospital and now Shiori and Kaori are staying at home- what am I doing wrong? Whatever it is, I must not make any mistakes with the next object of my affections- the lolilicious Ayu. Ever since she came to live with us, I have been training Ayu and using her as backup girl when no one else is available, but now she must be brought to the forefront of my attentions. Of course, there is Nayuki to consider as well, but I think of her as more of a last resort. Continue Reading »

Real life truly can be pain sometimes; on Wednesday, I had to deal with water pouring through the ceiling thanks to a burst pipe (thankfully there was no lasting damage), and Thursday was the day of numerous power cuts thanks to Wind’s evil brother Snow. Hopefully matters will stabilise soon, before this becomes my personal woes blog.

Part of creating a successful harem is getting all the constituent members used to the idea of being just one member of a group of girls, and so it was today that I decided to bring together Shiori, Kaori, Ayu and Nayuki under the pretence of holding a birthday party. Happily, this event went off without a hitch, with even Kaori gelling together with the group- only a harem master such as myself could have engineered such a meeting without any fears of jealousy or friction between the girls. L decides to get experimental in the bedroom.
I never thought I’d say this, but I’m actually beginning to understand the lure of dating sims, and it’s all thanks to Harvest Moon. There’s just such a profound satisfaction in getting your chosen girl up to red heart level (even if all I did was give her flowers every day); in fact, my only disappointment is that you can’t woo all the girls into joining your own personal harem. I know Anton would like nothing better than to have a harem to do the day to day work on the farm whilst he lives the easy life.
Due to my method of writing the parody whilst watching the episode for the first time, I haven’t had time for Shounen Onmyouji 10 this week. It should appear in the next round-up.
