Karura: From this it sounds as if I should have bought it. But since I played the first game on emulator - finished it, played it again on PS, got about halfway I think and then I suddenly stopped playing I don´t crave more FFIV.

But it is nice that they have spent so much time on this to make it a good game. It deserves that.

Having each characters learn eachother skills is something I´ll never like in FF games. It is best when you have to use each character to it´s fullest instead of having all characters do everything.

FFVII is released for the PSN so a remake is at this point out of the question.

Which is good as I want more new games instead of remakes.

ritchan: FFV is as nice as the other games. What should be changed is the name of the main character... Butz? WTH came up with that name?

It is also hard. But is fun to play. Played it on emulator, gave up before the first boss, played it on PS, got to the last dungeon and something came up...

A remake with PS3 graphics would consume time which they don´t seem to have at the moment as they are busy with other things. Another FF MMORPG for instance. That is going to be released to PS3 where the internet gaming is free? How do they think about that?

I´d rather have remakes made for PS2. Not any handheld. I´d love to play the games but I can´t. Not for long sessions.

PS3 version of old FF games? Both yes and no, no for any graphics updates, yes for fresh translations.

Rinoa looked just fine ingame as well. Even more beautiful in the FMVs, and it was that Rinoa that I saw on screen so :p

I've had enough remakes already. Either redo the entire thing with fully 3D environments for FF6 and FF7 on PS3, or don't do it at all. And FF8 could use some graphics upgrading - Rinoa looked horrible in battle, but incredible in the FMVs.

FF5 should stay where it is... it just doesn't fit well with the whole 3D thing.

I too did not manage to finish the earlier installments of FFIV, so when I started playing the DS remake I was determined to beat it. Of course I was blissfully unaware of the difficulty spikes in some of the random encounters which lead to a number of unsatisfying game overs. Even with slick augmentation combinations turning Rosa into a dual casting healing factory, Kain into a darkness infused strike from the heavens and Cecil into a back row combat magnet I find that I am still unable to progress very far into the depths of the Lunarian moon.

In any event, the remake was very well done and I praise it for that. Certainly worth picking up for any fan of the series.

A remake of VII (with decent translation and less stubby graphics) would of course be desirable, but I just feel that I could grow to like V a bit more if it was remade ;)

Mmm FFIV om nom nom.

<i>"...now let’s have remakes for FFV and VI as well."</i>

Forget V, let's just go straight to VI and VII instead. ;D
