Hige: Much as I loved Seirei no Moribito at first, I really cooled on it as the series progressed, so although I can see the similarities I'm hoping Kurenai is going to be more consistent throughout. And as long as Murasaki stays likable, I'll take her spunk over inoffensive Chagum any day.

itsubun: you guessed right- it's from one of the later chapters of Eternal Sabbath.

The manga clip at the beginning of your entry is very compelling. Can you tell me what manga it is from? Looking at the artwork, my first guess is SOURYO Fuyumi [mangaka of Mars, Eternal Sabbath]. Confirmation plz =]

"Despite some worry at the back of my mind that this could turn into another Seirei no Moribito..."

I'm glad you picked up on that comparison, too. It's a testament to Kurenai's charm that it's doing exactly what I worried Seirei no Moibito would do - namely have the princely kid character be a complete brat - yet remain totally likable. While I enjoyed Seirei no Moribito, Kurenai is proving to be much less of an effort to watch. One of my big favourites so far.

Actually, the Chii's Sweet Home manga had been scanlated up to chapter 38 or so(the end of volume 2).
So you can easily read ahead of the anime for weeks to come. ;)
