IKnight: Kaiji is not just win, it's pure "w1n". Again I say "ISHIDDAAAAA!!!"

Hanners: Agreed, if it had continuity, Sensei should be in his grave by now- it's not something that should be applied to this sort of show. I seem to recall the basis of that first story being a random paragraph on one of the manga chapter title pages anyway.

Hopefully Gunslinger Girl Il Teatrino will improve after a brief settling-in period; this time around Yu Aida is more heavily involved which in principle should be a good thing, but then again the overall staff experience levels seem to be so much less this time around.

Skh: Dennou Coil is of course a legendary anime and I still prefer it to Spice and Wolf, but the latter fits the image of the 'anime I was always searching for' more closely (i.e. the kind of thing I imagined I wanted to watch when I first became a fan), if that makes some kind of twisted sense.

I had to laugh at a friend of mine the other day, who complained about the first episode of Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei screwing up the show's continuity. Since when did Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei have any real continuity in the first place?! Anyhow, I loved the first episode of the new season too - It's certainly a hit and miss show, but the pace is so fast that even the less amusing segments never last long enough to detract from the overall random hilarity of it all.

As for Gunslinger Girl - Il Teatrino, I really don't want to write it off just yet. Yes, it looks as cheap as your least favourite Uncle's late Christmas present, but... Well, it's Gunslinger Girl. I still live in hope that they manage to capture the emotional feel of the original show, even if they can't recreate those perfect visuals. Seeing as the first episode was more or less an introduction to newcomers, it still has plenty of room to go either way quality-wise.
