Masahiro has a flashback about the generic ghost’s life in Snow Town before waking up.
Masahiro: Help, this guy is so generic and boring! He mustn’t be allowed to become the main character!
Mokkun arrives.
Mokkun: I can’t believe this! It’s all Takaokami no Kami’s fault that this generic ghost ended up in your body!
Masahiro: But why me?
Mokkun: It’s because you’re the main character, idiot! But she should have realised that you’re only Level Six- you can’t afford to have a status effect like Stamina Drain! Continue Reading »

A little over a year ago, I introduced the unintentional hilarity that was Romance of the Three Kingdoms, a 1991 series notable for its remarkable cheesiness and incredibly poor subtitles. Now, the series is finally complete but the question remains- was it really worth sitting through?
The answer to that, quite simply, is no, but since ending the post here would render it pointless, I really should go into more detail. As mentioned in the first review, the main draw of this series is not the plot- even Three Kingdoms fanboys will find little to appreciate in this compressed and even more edited tale of Liu Bei and his Warriors of Justice- but the fact that the combination of story and grammatically questionable subtitles made the whole thing into a laugh riot. Juliet and her allies hold a meeting.
Francisco: What we need to do is somehow assemble a previously unmentioned group of HORSE cavalry for an all-out attack.
Conrad: So what we need to do is start recruiting generics.
Francisco: Yes- it’s only episode 18, so we have plenty of time to make arrangements.
A delivery of apples arrives, but beneath the apples are a pile of swords.
Conrad: Damn, why did we have to go short on apples just so they could fit in these pointless swords? Continue Reading »

The city of Judoh is not an easy place to live in- organised crime runs rampant, no one can leave the city without permission and the only reason people can live there in the first place is by the grace of the advanced technology of the so-called ‘Celestials’. Even so, there are those who are committed to maintaining order in the city, such as Daisuke Aurora, leader of the small yet dedicated ‘special unit’ of the Bureau of Urban Safety. Together with his android partner J and a whole network of friends and allies, Daisuke dedicates himself to fighting crime and keeping his mafia rivals in check.

Zhou Yu confronts Zhuge Liang.
Zhou Yu: Zhuge Liang, it is time to throw any pretence at historical accuracy aside and claim that you are a legendary wizard who can call forth thunderstorms with Key Item Big Dipper Mandala!
Lu Xun: Oh come on- that’s stretching credulity a bit too far!
Zhuge Liang: I agree; besides, I’m too modest to admit to my amazing magical powers just yet.
Back on the Red Cliff, Cao Cao talks to Zhuge Jin. Continue Reading »

This picture has nothing to do with the article, but people seem to expect random eroge CGs when reading editorials.
For a while now, there have been several editorial titles sitting on my computer, but the effort needed to actually write such pieces has always seemed to be just beyond my grasp. In an attempt to clear out the backlog of ideas so that I can feel less guilty about not blogging quite as much, however, I have decided to forge ahead and just write the damn things.
