I agree, not drab or bland at all. It’s a good watch, artwork’s fine, story’s good too with a fuck up ending that just gets to you, but it’s a sound one so I wasn’t too mad with it. As for music, I just don’t care much about soundtracks. It’s yaoi/man-man love story so normally I’d just go after the story, characters and those few hot scenes :-)

I didn’t think it was drab or bland; in fact I thought the artwork was uncommonly pretty and captured the seasonal changes beautifully. The storytelling was elegant, intimate and well-paced to keep the viewer engaged. However, I do agree with you that the show could have benefitted from some better music.

Generic? so-so? HOW DARE YOU!!!?! This was one of the most beautiful yaoi I have ever seen. It was not as intense or graphic as enzai or sensative pornograph of course, but the art was very clean and beautiful. And yes, the story idea was a japanese version ripoff of romeo and juliette, but I hated that play because the reasons behind the love were different. Two hormonal teenagers emoing and going “omg you are so hot! I’m in love! I’m going to die for you!” Just does not compare to the senses of humanity portrayed by the charechters that is widely lost or undervalued by most of the population. I was extremely surprised by some of the dialogue that came out of this. It deserves much more credit than you gave it.

I was comparing it to OVAs in general; it’s probably good compared to the more shallow yaoi stuff, but I don’t usually watch that.

Fuyu no Semi was generic? Aargh… I thought it was one of the better Yaoi series… Yes, the music was (below)average, but the ED was nice.
