I felt the series got off to a flying start, hit its natural peak at episode 8... then fell apart after that.

I had some issues with the pacing and the direction. It would've been better for Hiro to take Karada home at the end of 8, and deal with the fallout in the following episodes. And Tetsu should have remained a side character - the most important issues involved Hiro, Karada, and Shoukou, and that's where the focus should have remained.

It also would have been more interesting to see the three characters deal with the living situation and the attention it was sure to draw.

Good comments: the show won't sit well with everyone, and the pacing varied. But I thought it was outstanding. It never dragged at all, for me, and none of it felt contrived, despite the contrived premise. The delicacy of the way people's emotions were shown was what worked best. But I do wish they could have included the manga backstory, which explained a lot, and made the situation more intense. My only complaint? Not enough Shouko. Her VA, Itou Shizuka, was outstanding, especially as adult Shouko.
