Some months ago, I reviewed the second season of School Rumble, and the verdict was not a positive one- much as I may have loved the series in its first season, these new episodes just failed to shine. Nonetheless, unwilling to completely give up on the franchise, I convinced myself that my dissatisfaction was due to the filler elements introduced in Nigakki, and vowed that reading the manga would make everything better. Unfortunately, if not unpredictably, this was not to be the case.

Well, the moment that I hoped would never come is here, and I have been forced to resort to Nayuki in the absence of any other eligible female. Although Nayuki isn’t bad, I just don’t feel the same sense of accomplishment with her that I did with the other girls, and so I must go to extreme lengths such as indulging in Flashback Modes and trying to find ways to restore Ayu- perhaps that small doll she buried is invested with plot powers that can do it. Chie tries pulling a plot out of her magical hat.

A lot has happened over the last three months, but I’m sure most will agree that events worldwide, personal and anime-related must all pale in comparison to the release we’ve all been waiting for- the second episode of Mai-Otome Zwei. In episode one, a mysterious Shadow Otome started petrifying powerful and God Mode supporting characters, Arika and Mashiro had an argument over generic protesters in Wind Bloom, and Mai and Arika protected Black Valley from a giant Slave of the week. This time around, Mai and Mashiro have gone missing for some reason, and on her way to find them, Arika finds herself in the middle of a bus-jacking in Aries. Exciting stuff, eh? No, I didn’t think so either.

Day 1
I woke up today to find the entire town blanketed in snow; whilst this means I can ignore crops for a while, it just highlights how depressing this season truly is. Even the lake has frozen over, although this does permit access to the Winter Mine, a place where I can gather the rare and valuable Orichalcum and Adamantite ores.

Today has been about more than mining, however, for in between trips to the mine, I went to town to ask Saibara to turn some Orichalcum into jewellery for Popuri (1000G is now nothing to me), before heading to the inn to order the whisk from TV shopping. On the way back, I stopped into Yodel farm to purchase my first sheep- Zonetrae. My barn is now getting quite full, but I dare not allow the animals outside in this weather. Continue Reading »
