I saw the anime first and when I was done, I was longing for more! But then when I started reading the manga, I realized how sucky and boring it was[no offence]! Tohru was just too nice, saving everybody's life, ans infact I hated her! Akito ofcourse had some mental problems, the family was retarted enough to follow her rules. Thats just my view though ^^

Wow im currently reading the manga i hope it comes out to a good cheezy ending because even though many people say it's cheezy others may think differently.

It's true the anime was too short but so far in bothe the anime and the beginning of the manga pull you in a magical world.

Although that's true i dont know how Dr. Slump fits in but i look forward to finish the Fruits Basket manga no matter how cheezy it is! *wink*

*shrug*: since I'm not familiar with Dr Slump beyond the title, creator and basic synopsis, I can't really be expected to make any kind of comparison with it.

redmaigo: If Tohru was going to end up with anyone, I did hope it would be Kyo over Yuki, but that storyline still annoyed me- especially as the mangaka originally said she wasn't intending to resolve the love triangle. And pairing up Yuki with Machi was just a little bit too convenient. But if you think this a mouthful, just look at my longer rants ;)

You have said a mouthful.

I was pulled into this wonderful world as you were via the anime and then the manga.

I was very happy.

Then the Student Council arc came into play...

Then it became a big bad mush of maddening mediocrity.

To quote another blogger regarding this series, "I was in it for the Tohru drama."

And even then, the whole KyonXTohru thing was enough to make you throw the nearest child or small animal against a wall.

I didn't do it though.

Well it's over now. Time to find something else to waste my precious mortality on.

You know, it's strange that nobody mentions how this series' gimmick is a complete ripoff of Tsun Tsukutsun's problems in Dr. Slump... I mean, you'd think the similarities were obvious.
