Good suggestion; I did get the first volume of the Maison Ikkoku manga in a three for two sale, but even though I enjoyed it there was always something else to get first. I really should carry on with the series when I can.

Azure Flame, you need to (re)visit Love Hina’s predecessor, Maison Ikkoku. It has a similar formula of slap-stick comedy and slow-burning comedy in a boarding house, but it’s done in a much more mature manner.

I have to agree with the title of this rant, I too lost a lot of vital brain cells watching this incredibly ill contrived and repeatitive anime. While the manga is definitely a memorable one, the anime (as stated above) left much (much, much, much, mucn, ect.) to be desired. In fact I didn’t even get past the the tenth episode because it was just sooooo bad that it made my head hurt. It’s unfortunate that something which could have been slightly enjoyable turned out to be by far one of the worst adaptaions of a manga ever!…okay I’m done now. :D

I’ll probably get around to the OVA and manga at some point, but with all the other things I’d like to read and watch first, it’s more a case of “think about looking at one day” than “must get tomorrow”.

The Love Hina manga is great, but the anime is just average.

Even with Love Hina again, it still only covers half the story. Seriously read the manga. The anime is one of the most mediocre titles out there, but the manga is one of the best love-comedies in existance (right there with School Rumble… even better at times)
