Hahaha!

"schooling a bitch" is just like, the way I roll. Hot under the collar? It's quite true that I find it assinine of you to call Wesnoth "for the masochistic" simply because you don't have the patience to learn the game. And you DO suck at it.

But so do I. There are probably very few people who are good at Wesnoth.

It's a hard game.

Thank you for your tactfully worded and constructive criticism. I have never once laid claim to being good at any game of this genre, but I have this odd, some may say unrealistic, requirement that I derive some fun out of what I'm playing. Unfortunately, Wesnoth was just too much of a slog for me to be inclined to want to learn about any kind of advanced tactics or mechanics beyond "complete level, move on".

So in short, do I suck at the game? Probably. Do I care? Not at all, I'd rather spend my time doing something I actually enjoy.

Oh, and as for calling me a bitch on IRC, good to see a few hundred words from someone you don't know can get you so hot under the collar ;)

Sorry but you clearly just suck at Wesnoth. Yeah, it's hard, but the mechanics aren't hard themselves. They create challenge; challenge creates interest; interest means good game.

Reserves of Gold - hire until you have an income of 0 or higher. Don't get negative income, it screws you over. Preferably, hire as few units as you can and keep as high an income as possible. Note that if you have more villages than units, your units have no upkeep cost. And holding villages is hell of easy- it raises defenses and regenerates your units quickly, allowing weak level 0s (like the walking dead in above pictures) to hold off units up to 2 levels higher with ease.

Army of Warriors - wrooooong. You're wrong. You're so wrong! Levels 1s are so strong. Often leveling them up just isn't worth it (well, for weak human units like cavalrymen and duelists). Like, Magi and any Elvish unit and most orcs... at level 1, they're just strong. They don't die immediately. Unless you're fighting like, 1 elf vs 5 undead with the elf standing in water.

Protecting your Heroes - stand right behind a fight, and then land the finishing blow. Do this a few times and bam, your hero's leveled up. Easiest trick in the book- it's also how to make level 2 magi.

Getting from Point A to Point B - it does add tactical complexity to the game! Skeletons slaughter humans by night and not by day. There's a neutral period to move and two turns to fight before retreating. It forces you to use tactics- see where the opponents can move, and move so that they can't get to you when you're vulnerable.

Enemy- you say you like Warcraft, but have you never played a WC level where there was more than one opponent? It's not a big deal that sometimes it's a bit more interesting than 1-on-1.

Amount of Turns- yeah, a turn limit is so unrealistic! Like, if you're running from an endless horde of orcs from the westlands, it makes no sense for there to be a time limit before the endless hordes overrun you.

>>With these inherent problems, is Wesnoth even worth playing at all?

"With these intelligent features, is Wesnoth not one of the most tactically difficult and challenging strategy games there is? The answer is yes."

Girl, you suck. >_
