I'm only superficially familiar with Utena so I wouldn't notice any rip-offs- I have noticed the 'Three Evil Lesbians' showing up in quite a few anime series lately though. The source material for this is a eight-volume, three side-story novel series -- whoever thought that trying to cram this into thirteen episodes was a good idea was dead wrong. Oh, and did you notice the blatant ripoffs of Revolutionary Girl Utena in the school arc? Or was that just me? This series could’ve been so much better, if they’d just given it five or more episodes to breathe.
